In Sanskrit, Atma means the soul, and Shanti means peace. The Atma Shanti Pooja is a deeply meaningful Vedic ceremony performed to bring peace and resolution to the soul of someone who has passed away — especially when the passing was sudden, unexpected, or emotionally unresolved.
According to Vedic understanding, the soul's journey does not end at death. It continues — and in some cases, if grief was unresolved, if death came too quickly, or if there are karmic ties left open, a soul may remain in a state of restlessness.
